Dear Secretary Peters. . .

I am shocked and appalled by Mary Peters's comments on PBS' "NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" this week. As a bicycle commuter of four years, I can assure Secretary Peters that bicycles are indeed a form of transportation, and a very viable one at that. The fact that bicycles do not consume oil may not align with the Bush Administration's policies or self-serving "war on terrorism", but that is no reason to discount them as not being a legitimate form of transportation.

Sincerely,
Kevin Sport
